Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 is getting a new life. The remake will launch on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 is set to bring back the magic of the early 2000s with modern improvements.
The game is a complete remake of the third and fourth titles in the series and will launch on July 11, 2025.
The new release rebuilds the original parks and challenges with updated graphics and smooth gameplay.
It uses 4K visuals on supported devices, so players can enjoy detailed textures, enhanced lighting, and fluid animations.
The classic levels are recreated along with new areas like a unique Waterpark set in a dry, abandoned desert park.
The new park offers grindable slides, a lazy river for performing tricks, and extra challenges for scoring points.
Gameplay and Modes
The game keeps the core skateboarding action that fans love. Players can:
- Complete Career Mode: Face challenges on two different tours. Earn in-game cash to unlock new gear like skate decks, grip tapes, wheels, and apparel;
- Play Single Sessions and Speedruns: Try to beat high scores by landing impressive tricks;
- Explore Free Skate: Wander through the parks at your own pace;
- Enjoy New Game+: Carry forward your stats from your first playthrough so you can master each park even better;
The controls are simple to learn but offer deep trick combinations, which means both new players and skateboarding veterans can have fun.
Online and Multiplayer Features
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 supports cross-platform online multiplayer for up to eight skaters at once.
Whether you choose to compete head-to-head or skate casually with friends, the game makes it easy to connect across different systems.
New and Classic Skaters
The remake brings together a mix of legendary and new skaters:
- Classic Icons: Tony Hawk, Bucky Lasek, Rodney Mullen, and many more from the original games;
- New Faces: Pro skateboarders like Rayssa Leal, Chloe Covell, Jamie Foy, Zion Wright, and Yuto Horigome join the roster;
- Special Characters: The Digital Deluxe Edition adds unique characters from other franchises. You can play as Doom Slayer and Revenant. These characters come with their own unique tricks and themed skate decks;
Players can also create their own skater.
The Create-A-Skater mode offers many options to change hair, tattoos, makeup, clothing, and even choose a hometown and skating style.
This lets you design a unique character that represents your style.
In-Game Tutorial
For beginners, there is a helpful tutorial led by Tony Hawk himself.
The lessons cover basic tricks such as ollies, kickflips, grinds, and manuals to make it easy for new players to learn how to skate and score high points.

Looking Back at the Franchise
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 and 4 were first released in 2001 and 2002. They introduced fresh tricks, larger levels, and even online multiplayer.
The new remake celebrates the series' 25-year history and its influence on skateboarding games by blending its classic feel with modern technology and design upgrades.
After the successful remaster of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2, Activision aimed to continue the series.
However, changes at Vicarious Visions led to the project being handed over to Iron Galaxy Studios.
The new team has stayed true to the original game design while adding new content and modern features for both longtime fans and new players.
